Your Hormone Balance has an enormous impact on your health and well being. Your state of mind, personality, energy and drive are determined by hormone levels. For women, their sense of balance begins to change in their mid-thirties. The major change that occurs at this time is the decline in progesterone production.
Progesterone is a “feel good” hormone. Progesterone helps to regulate cycles, manages anxiety, irritability, PMS, sleep and water retention. A small change in the hormone balance can lead to significant symptoms.
In the mid to late forties, estrogen begins to decline. Estrogen is mother nature's natural “Prozac.” Hot flushes, depression, fatigue, further sleep disturbances, weight gain and bone loss all develop as a result of estrogen deficiency.
Testosterone may also decline contributing to loss of libido and muscle mass.
Men develop hormone deficiencies as well. Some men start noticing changes in their stamina as early as their mid-thirties. The majority of symptoms for men develop in their fifties.
